Achieve a straighter smile in a discreet way without metal or brackets.
Invisalign Clear Aligners are a revolutionary orthodontic treatment that straightens teeth without the use of fixed metal braces. Using a series of clear custom aligner trays, Invisalign gradually and gently moves your teeth to the desired position. Invisalign can be successfully used to treat irregular, crowded or spaced teeth as well as alignment problems such as overbites, underbites and crossbites.
For most of our patients, particularly our adult patients, the idea of undergoing orthodontic treatment is usually quite daunting because of the obvious appearance of braces.
This transparent and virtually undetectable treatment has man yadvantages:
- They are removable. You can eat, brush and floss like normal during treatment.
- They are more comfortable. Thre are no metal brackets or wires, which means reduced mouth irritation and pain.
- They are time-saving. With the need to adjust brackets and wires, you will spend less time at the dentist.
Unlike braces, the Invisalign aligners can be removed allowing users to eat and maintain an excellent oral hygiene routine as usual. It also means that there are no dietary restrictions; you are free to eat whatever you please. Furthermore, you can take them out to enjoy special occasions, events or to feel confident when public speaking. The transparent trays are barely noticeable when worn, making them highly convenient for those who work in professional fields where traditional orthodontics would be impractical.
The Invisalign treatment process
The process of straightening your smile with Invisalign is relatively simple and should be easy to schedule into your day-to-day life.
Once we have taken a digital scan of your teeth, a series of aligners will be created specifically for you. The aligners are made of a clear plastic material that blends seamlessly into your smile. These should be worn as extensively as possible; ideally 22 hours each day. This allows time for you to eat and brush your teeth in between. As your teeth slowly shift positions, you progress through your set of aligners to accommodate for the slight re-positioning. You will move on to a new pair of aligners every two weeks as your teeth move towards the desired position.
Over a period of 3 – 24 months, depending on the original positioning of your teeth and the desired result, your teeth will be gently moved into place by the aligners.
